As you drive up, you might say, “what a cute bungalow,” but when you enter you say, “bam – what a (you fill-in depending on age group) space.

Yes, there is a very traditional living room with a split brick fireplace, but after that, the kitchen/dining/deck just explodes! The original douglas-fir floors have been redone, but not in an ordinary way! These were refinished with a black and natural pattern that takes control of the space.  The mix of old and new cabinet’s works especially well when you add the “river rock” black granite slab countertops with the latest spill-over ends.  New stainless steel appliances keep true to the eclectic use of materials. There is a generous space for a dining table that is drenched in light from an old classic multi-multi pane window – how fun is that?

Let’s do the rest of the interior before venturing outside. The 2 bedrooms are colorful and fairly spacious with plenty of closet space – “how could you ever have too much closet space?” The bathroom has a nice mix of old and new (mostly new, like fixtures and tile.) The retiled shower has a fun gray accent tile, too.

Okay outside now. The deck off the kitchen is a nice spot to eat, or sit on a cozy bench and read. The rest of the backyard gets great western exposure and there is a veggie/flower garden with an old tank from the house left there as part of the history. The little walkway takes you to the new entry of the garage. The glass doors let in plenty of light and while the structure is simple, it holds endless uses (we turned someone down for a wedding reception already!) How about an office, play room, art studio, media cave, or ?? The blackboard wall could have you working on plans for a new start up.

In the basement, watch your head!  It’s a bit low for me at 6ft +. The laundry is down here and the new furnace, plus a Dark Room. Not sure how useful this is in the day of digital everything, but it’s charming. Maybe this spot could have other uses since it has a good door, running water and a quiet fan.

This house is great, the neighborhood is great, the school is great!  So call your agent and let’s try and make it yours.
