It’s hard to fully describe this home in the space I have here. The front, as you drive up is so exciting. It cries-out for you to drop the maps or your Slurpee and run up the stairs – all because of the perfect front exterior: a front sunroom, or in fact 2 sunrooms. They face south and are flooded with good’ol East Bay Sunshine to keep you warm and cozy. The front paint colors even include the historic dental molding. (There is this same facade on about 3-4 other homes in NOBE if you can find some day to explore.)
After noticing the nice front porch, you can wonder inside. 1st you ‘ll notice the gleaming hardwood floors and coved ceilings – very nice detailing. There is a spacious entryway w/rooms on all sides. Start with a bedroom/office on the right and see it is linked to one of the sun porches. On the left, the dining room with a classic china cabinet built in and an old fashioned fireplace (just for looks now, but maybe someday??) Straight ahead you have another bedroom and probably the master. The right direction takes you on to the Kitchen – Very functional especially with new appliances. The breakfast nook overlooks the garden it gets even better. Over yonder there is another bedroom, and a nice Jack and Jill bathroom with new tile floors and refurbished tub and tile.
Okay, as we run thru the laundry with a toilet room, off to the side, we jump down the stairs and see the grandeur of the backyard. Maybe it’s a private EB public park for you? Looks like it. Run around, get dizzy and pick yourself up and stop acting like a kid, oh go ahead and do one more twirl!! In the back of the ranch, you see a very big vegetable and flower garden. It really needs a green thumb to get it thriving again, but the potential is there. Tucked at very back is a quiet place to sit and watch the bees and humming birds zoom and buzz around.
On the other side is the “Casita al la NOHO,” very famous you know. What a cool color choice, as it blends-in with the plants at the back of the garden. It’s a bit rustic, but from the plumbing and electrical work evident, it had grand plans at one time.
